Physiology is the study of the mechanisms of how our body functions internally in health and disease. It involves understanding the body from a cellular level up to the structure of our organs and how they function to maintain life in the human body.
This semester-long course covers the function of the human organism, with an emphasis on understanding the internal organ systems and structure to develop greater awareness of the body for performing Shiatsu. Through this course you will become better acquainted with the digestive, circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, urinary, endocrine (hormonal), nervous, reproductive and integumentary (skin, hair etc) systems of the body. This journey through the body will introduce you to a fuller experience of the complexity of the human body.
